Search Settings

This section lets you control the default user interface when users log in to ProQuest using a custom link.

Search full text by default

This setting lets you control where ProQuest searches for search terms.

Select Use default setting to use the default settings for the user group.

Select Yes to search the full text of the article by default. Select No to search Citation and abstracts.

Start with spelling variants enabled

The spelling variants option lets users include variations in spelling of the search words when doing an Advanced Search in ProQuest.

Select Use default setting to use the default settings for the user group.

Select Yes to start with spelling variants enabled, or No to start with spelling variants disabled.

Start with related terminology enabled

The related terminology option lets users include terms related to the search words when doing an Advanced Search in ProQuest.

Select Use default setting to use the default settings for the user group.

Select Yes to start with Related Terminology enabled, or No to start with it disabled.

Start with search mode

Select Use default setting to use the default settings for the user group.

Select Basic Search, Advanced Search, Publication Search/Browse, or Topic Guide to default to the specific search mode.

Interface Type / Language

Select the desired language to use for the default interface:

Document language

For users working in Ethnic News Watch, you can select the default article language. For example, if you set this to Spanish, searches will find articles written in Spanish.
