Creating a JSTOR CrossLink
Follow these steps to create a JSTOR CrossLink:
- Make sure you are on the CrossLink Settings: JSTOR page:
- From the Linking Out, Configure CrossLinks & Link Resolvers page,
click .
- Click from the available link types.
- Set the CrossLinks Display Options
- Do one of the following:
- Click to create the new CrossLink.
- Click to remove this link information
from the database.
- Click to return to the Linking Out, Configure CrossLinks & Link Resolvers page without making any changes.
- Click to apply
the link to individual titles.

These options let you select a graphic, alt text, and link text to display
within the Citation/Abstract section of articles.
You can select to use the JSTOR default graphic and text, or use custom
selections. To use a custom graphic and text, follow these steps:
- Select .
- Click .
You see the Edit CrossLinks Custom Graphic page.
- Click and navigate to your graphic.
The graphic must be 88 by 20 pixels, and gif or jpg format.
- Click to upload the graphic.
- If you want, enter the desired link text. This will appear on the Document
View page, next to the graphic. The text maximum is 76 characters.
- If you want, enter the desired Alt text. This will appear when the user
has graphics turned off. The text maximum is 20 characters.
- Click to save the changes.
